Paddlefest is an annual event in Smiths Falls, Ontario, in which teams compete to be the champion of the Voyageur Canoe races. Meanwhile, their families, friends, and the public celebrate the River— its nature, history, and beauty.
It’s a great day on the Rideau at Kinsmen’s Lower Reach Park. In addition to the races, on-shore exhibitors feature environmental sustainability, canoe and outdoor lore, and education. This year is the beginning of the bicentennial of the building of the Rideau Waterway system under the leadership of Colonel By.
The Rideau Roundtable offers another new community opportunity: The Rideau Eco-Literacy Center for Children. There will be games and displays for kids ages 6-12.
As always, there are free canoe tours for everyone, a photo competition, the canoe tug of war, entertainment, and so much more!
June 7, 2025, the Rideau Roundtable invites you to Lower Reach Park in Smiths Falls to celebrate the 200th Anniversary of the Rideau Canal Waterway with Canoe Races, Paddling tours for the whole family, exhibitors, games and activities for the kids, and so much more.
